This is the house with the digital scrolls during the day, as you can see they really go all out, also bonus points for Forte Koup in a nice color and wheel combo.
Yeah it's that thing again, with more details visible during the day (but sans cool lights).
Just a picture of a cute little bat cutout, yeah I may have gone overboard.
Lawn tombstones and other details.
A whole family plot on the front lawn, pretty sure this violates city code /lame joke.
A common theme was witches with bad piloting skills.
Also, gourds!
A lot of scarecrows for a bit of a country kewpie effect.
Not a Halloween shot, but a "yes these still grow this time of year out here" shot.
Someone was spraypainting pumpkins because, well, because. I feel mixed about this kind of effect for decoration but for some people it might work.
A mixture of planted and naturally occurring flowers, either way amazing for just before Halloween.
Just to drive home the nature of the neighborhood. Buzz Aldrin described the moon something akin to "beautiful, magnificent desolation" and I feel the same thing out here. There isn't much but for those who have spent most or all of their lives out here there's a special connection to the land that might be hard for someone from elsewhere to connect with. Out here, it's relatively clean and far from the pollution of the city, even though all this suburban sprawl threatens to drag all of that out here with it. It's why I'd like to move to California or Texas where the climate is similar but maybe the job prospects are better and the culture more diverse and inclusive.
A shot towards the local school district bus depot and the hills behind the neighborhood. The hill to the right of the bus depot is slated to be bulldozed for a combination middle and high school - one of the reasons why I tried to work so hard to get my teaching license is to work specifically at said future school, an at worst 15 minute walk away from my doorstep even in the worst blizzards (I know, I've been out in blizzards for fun before!)
Just another "desolate nature" shot down the main drag past the swimming pool, closed till next season naturally. The grass here is obviously the most common natural plant feature in Eastern Colorado - Amber Waves of Grain become pretty course up close.
The poolhouse/clubhouse is continuously rented out throughout the year, and there was quite a party happening when I took these pics. Occasionally corporate get-togethers or invitations from said corporations looking to hock their wares in the neighborhood, but mostly family gatherings and birthdays. I was trying to get the flock of birds in this shot but the panoramic default lens makes them such a tiny feature.
Pontiac G8! And yeah I fail at taking photos of moving cars.
Like I said, fail at taking photos.
Just some more nature shots along the "gentrified" greenway along the creek.
They were still working on their decorations so I didn't want to intrude. CT is the local high school about a few miles to the south in one of the neighboring, uh, neighborhood.
I took this photo because I believe (don't quote me on this) this house is under forecloseure and I'd love to live here one day as my own place. Like I said, don't quote me, and hence I obscured the address still.
Yup, they seriously want to put a casino near the neighborhood at a dog race track that as far as I know has been little-used for years other than as the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds. This is what happens when you won't let anybody pass any taxes and anybody can move in and attach special private funding for schools to let whatever the hell they want passed including building casinos wherever they want. Advance apologies for the politicizing but hey it is that season.
Another "yes they still grow this time of year" shot.
Ugh, you completely miss the scarecrows in this shot. But in addition to Halloween decorations season-round general fall decorations tend to be popular, like I said having a special connection to the land makes you realize how important this season can be, if I may sound like a dork.
And just some pretty tree pics, lots of these on this digital roll.
Looking out north towards more of that magnificent desolation. And a landfill (seriously).
Trees fail pretty regularly in this neighborhood due to the poor soil so this is a pretty common sight.
One of the better jack-o-lanterns I've seen.
Looking West from East across the creek.
Someone had a Jalop weekend, despite just changing a tire on their white Journey.
Looks like a Corvette obviously - maybe ZR1?
A mud crawler and some motorcycles. The guys (who were working on an 80s DeVille) were nice enough to let me take these shots too:

I hope a jalop isn't dumb enough to use a suicide Jack to do brakes. I think that's just some cheap bastard.
